    DAY 1: ARRIVAL/NAIROBI/AMBOSELI

    Arrival of your international flight into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Met by our representatives outside customs and immigration halls. Safari briefing and introduction to your driver guide. Morning drive (3 hrs) back to Amboseli (4 hrs) crossing the Athi plains, home of the colourful Masai tribes. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge/Camp. Spend 02 nights.

    DAY 2: AMBOSELI- B, L, D

    Morning game viewing drive in Amboseli Park. Lunch at the lodge and time for a siesta or a swim in the pool before an afternoon game viewing drive. Amboseli is a relatively small yet fascinating park of lush water holes and swamps contrasting against flat open plains and acacia woodlands. Elephant and plains game abound as well as the big cats such as Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. With luck, the snow-capped peak of Mt Kilimanjaro will be visible, creating a spectacular backdrop to the peacefully grazing animals. Full board and overnight at your lodge/camp.

    DAY 3: TSAVO WEST- B, L, D.

    Morning drive to Tsavo West Park, stopping to see the Shetani lava flow. Afternoon game drive in the park. From Kilaguni, great expanses of open plains stretch in all directions with Mount Kilimanjaro, the Chyulu hills, the Taita hills and Ngulia Mountains on different horizons. The views from Roaring rocks and Poacher's lookout are truly spectacular. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino and most common species of plains game and smaller mammals are present so wildlife viewing is varied but requires some patience. A visit to Mzima Springs where crystal clear water bubbles up from underground may reveal hippo and crocodile, seen from an underwater viewing hide. Bird life is extraordinarily colourful and diverse with the Ngulia Mountains hosting many migratory species at certain times of the year. Overnight at your lodge/camp.

    DAY 4: TSAVO WEST/TSAVO EAST- B, L, D.

    Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Tsavo East National Park. Arrive, check-in and lunch. Afternoon game drives. A vast expanse of unremitting flat savannah plains broken up only by the Yatta plateau lava flow, the Galana river and occasional rocky outcrops. Being of lower altitude than the Western park, Tsavo East is hotter and dryer with bushy grassland, Acacia woodland and riverine forest along the water courses. Most game viewing is concentrated South of the Galana river. Here, large herds of red elephant can be found, so called because of the red Laterite soil common to this area. In addition, rhino, lion, leopard, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk and the rare Hunter's Hartebeest can be seen. Aruba dam provides permanent water and interesting game viewing while the views from Mudanda rock and the Yatta Plateau lava flow are well worth the scramble to the top.vSpend 1 night at the lodge/camp on full board.

Set in 200 acres of private land, and with a rustic charm all of its own, the lodge nestles in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at almost six thousand meters, is Africa's highest and most famous snowcapped mountain. It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930's, inspired Ernest Hemingway's unforgettable stories 'The Snows of Kilimanjaro' and 'The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber' which were turned into more than successful feature films in the late 1940's due to their renowned actors. All forms of wildlife still abound in this wilderness which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, an easy twenty-minute drive away from the lodge. Clothing

On an East African safari, you should go for comfort and convenience when it comes to your clothing. Some of the things you should remember, include:

  • Bring lightweight layers in both long and short lengths, plus socks, sleepwear, and swim wear.
  • Always take a sweater or fleece jacket, as it can get quite chilly at night and during early mornings.
  • Unless you're planning to trek, bulky hiking boots are rarely necessary. However, a comfortable pair of lightweight trainers are a must.
  • Don't forget a hat, as you'll want to protect your face and scalp from the equatorial sun.
  • It's not recommended to wear bright colors on safari, so consider buying some khaki, dark green, or darker colored clothes before your trip.

A full passport with at least six-month validity from the date of departure is generally required for travel. It is recommended that travelers contact the relevant Consulate/Embassy prior to travel for current visa requirements.

Applying for an East African Visa One of the greatest things to happen to East African tourism over the past few years is the introduction of the East African visa. This visa allows you access to Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, and it’s not only a time saver, but it also works out considerably cheaper than purchasing individual visas.

To apply for the East African Visa, you’ll need the following: A passport with at least six months validity One standard sized passport photograph A completed application form Tip: It’s important that you apply for the East African visa with the country from which you will begin your travels. The visa will be valid for 90 days from the date marked in your passport.
