Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo west is a beautiful rugged wilderness with the savannah ecosystem comprising of open grasslands, scrublands and acacia woodlands.

The Park hosts a vibrant volcanic arena of molten lava forming Shetani lava, which formed 200 years ago and was thought by the locals to be the work of the devil. Tsavo protects part of Lake Jipe which is rich in aquatic life and bird watching. Ngulia sanctuary, located in the park, has a growing population of highly endangered black rhinos creeping from extinction forced upon them by poaching. The Park offers magnificent game drive with wildlife including the threatened corncrake and Basra reed warbler, rhino, elephant hippos, lion, cheetah, leopards and buffalos.
